RESI WEEK November 1 – 5, 2021
The Race and Ethnic Studies Institute (RESI) is celebrating thirty years of service with RESI Week. Join us November 1 – 5, 2021 as we gather to explore the many conversations surrounding race and ethnicity. Our 30th Anniversary Keynote Address will be given on Thursday, November 4, by renowned scholar, Dr. Eduardo Bonilla-Silva. RESI Week will include a mix of online and face-to-face formatted events. Race and Science Fiction pop-up Exhibit-
Cushing Library
All week long: November 1 – 5 | 9 AM-4:30 PM
Stop by the Cushing Library and explore science fiction and fantasy authors who write about themes associated with race, ethnicity and culture! Whether you are a sci-fi fan, or exploring new titles from the genre by exciting new and long-time authors, you don’t want to miss this!
TAMU Campus Race and Space Tour
Monday, November 1 | 12 noon
The TAMU Campus Race and Space Tour invites Aggieland on a tour to explore race on Texas A & M’s campus, visiting locations that invite us to explore the complex history of race at TAMU, highlighting both its glory and challenges. This is a 1 ½ hour walking tour designed to be interactive, so space is limited, and we will adhere to physical distancing guidelines.

Join the College of Liberal Arts Center’s and Institute’s and RESI’s Open House event at Rudder Tower. Find out about RESI and the College’s wonderful Centers and Institutes, and hear mini-talks from the great scholars affiliated with us! With Dr. Omar Rivera, Department of Philosophy and Director, as a guest speaker at 12:00 pm.

In partnership with the TAMU Data Justice Group join us for a screening of the film Coded Bias. After the screening will be hosting a panel discussion of the film. This event is in person.

Join us for a discussion on researching race by renowned scholars. Key panelists are Dr. Verna Keith, Dr. Rogelio Saenz, and Dr. Joe Feagin. This discussion will be moderated by Dr. Steve Garner.
