Joyce and her husband Kurt created comprehensive professional documents to invite architects to bid for the job of designing our new church. Several invitations for a “Request for Qualifications” were sent out as the preliminary contacts are being solicited from firms selected by the Sacred Space Team. Their deadline for a response is June 26. So far one firm has self-withdrawn from consideration after email and phone call responses. After the group is narrowed down, the plan is to have those interested firms submit the “Request for Proposal” document by July 26. Architect interviews will then be scheduled for suitable candidates.
Ken has in progress of getting bids to mow the 1719 property +/-remove some of the underbrush. Also he will head up identifying the trees on the property that we want to be certain to keep.
Veronica Morgan is working on getting a topographical map and having the 11-year-old survey updated. She has helped with the wording to the City of Bryan to follow up on the future location of a driveway on the property as indicated during a P&Z meeting we had. She also received an opinion from the City of Bryan that we could have a non illuminated sign, not in the right-of-way, not to exceed 32 square feet in size. This is held to be in the category of a real estate sign, not a permanent sign.
