Don't forget our Movie tonight! We're watching the 1982 Comedy TOOTSIE together using our regular Sunday Service ZOOM
in preparation for Sunday's special movie themed service! It's a virtual Dinner and a Movie! #uucbv #tootsie #movie #brazosuu #comedy #genderidentity
Stories can tell our hearts what our heads fail to comprehend. Tootsie, a romantic comedy from 1982 does just that. It offers an opportunity to understand the cost of gender roles and expectations and how these truths get complicated by attraction, identity, and agency.
Our plan for July is to watch each movie on Saturday evening 5PM preceding the Sunday service relating to that movie and you're invited to watch with us using our normal Sunday Service ZOOM link found at the top of our homepage so we can all enjoy a "night at the movies" together.
We encourage everyone to treat this as a "Dinner and A Movie" event so feel free to enjoy your food and beverage of choice during the show (just don't forget to turn your camera and microphone off while you eat). There will be an intermission for restroom breaks, refreshments, and brief discussion before watching the second half of the movie, and then we'll open up for discussion and dessert afterward!
