UUCBV: Host Church for Family Promise Sign-up for March 2019
It is time again for the UUCBV to be the Host Church for Family Promise.
March 17h – 23rd is our week. And We Need Your Help!
As most of you know, FP is a nonprofit organization in Bryan, TX that provides transitional living for homeless children and their families. These children and their families reside at FP for a 4- to 12-week period receiving social service assistance and nurturing as they move from a homelessness status to a stable permanent living situation.
DUTIES: Please note - more that one person may perform the duties listed above. Overnight guests will sleep in separate single beds in the Volunteer Room.
1. Breakfast and Lunch Supplies: Dr. Phebe will provide a grocery list for the week's breakfast and bag lunch supplies. The best time to bring them to FP is on Sunday either in the afternoon or early evening.
2. Dinners should be warm and healthy. We will know at the beginning of the week how many guests will be staying at FP. Please provide enough food for the guests and a little extra for volunteers. 3. Dinner Host 5:30 - 7:00 pm - Help serve dinner and mingle with guests. 4. Evening Host 7:30 - 8:30 pm - The main responsibility is to mingle with guests.
5. Overnight Host(s): 8:00 PM - 7:00 AM - The main responsibility is to lock the lobby and office doors, turn on and off the building alarms, make sure guests are in their rooms and sleep in the host room present in case of an emergency (i.e. illness, accident, etc.). Receipts may be given to Leslie Dempsey or Deb Wilson
