Sept. 16th – 22nd: UUCBV is Host Church for Family Promise B/CS We Need Your Help! We do this based on the Second Principle of UU: Justice, equity, and compassion in human relations points us toward something beyond worth and dignity. It points us to the larger community. It gets at collective responsibility. It reminds us that treating people as human beings is not simply something we do one-on-one, but something that has systemic implications and can inform our entire cultural way of being.
Family Promise (FP) is a nonprofit organization in Bryan, TX that provides transitional living for homeless children and their families. These children and their families reside at FP for a 4- to 12-week period receiving social service assistance & nurturing as they move from a homelessness status to a stable permanent living situation. UUCBV volunteers have already impacted FP as several members worked with the TAMU Women’s Club painting & furnishing one of the multi-family rooms at the facility (the colorful room).
