The UUCBV Supports Hope’s Locker, BISD, & We Are Having A Clothing Drive in August!
Hope's Locker, in Bryan, is a clothing closet that supplies gently worn clothing, school supplies, backpacks, cleaning supplies, toiletries and nonperishable food for all BISD students and families suffering from homelessness. Since Hope’s Locker is in Bryan, they don’t often receive the quality of donations that College Station nonprofits receive. Hope’s Locker is in need of gently worn clothing donations of any size for males and females, but especially clothing, underwear and socks for younger children. They often need to cloth young children arriving to school in dirty, tattered clothing. Our next big collection day will be in early August, during Coffee Hour after Sunday Service. So, during the summer months take a look at the clothing your children have outgrown and all the clothing you do not wear and consider donating. For more information please contact Pam Johnson 832-641-9782 & the MSJE.
Hope's Closet is a branch of services provided under Bryan ISD's Project HOPE. The Locker is open on Tuesdays from 4:15-6:00 and by appointment through the Project HOPE office. It is open to all students and families of Bryan ISD and teachers/staff from within the district. We provide clothing, shoes, non-perishable items, toiletries, and school supplies. If you have questions about the program, please call the Project HOPE office at 979-209-7042.
Project HOPE ensures that students and families that are uncertain about their housing or are living in a temporary situation are aware of their rights under the McKinney-Vento Act. Bryan ISD is committed to serving students that are living in a transitional situation, be it, in a shelter, doubled up with other families or unaccompanied youth.
