With a warm smile and cheerful attitude Allison arrived at the UUCBV in 2015 with John, Liam and Reid. Six months later, the family became members and we have been blessed with this family contributing to our congregation ever since. Moving here to work on a PhD in History, Allison immediately became involved in church matters. Her passion is religious education and she worked closely with Reverend Donna to increase our children’s participation in our regular worship service. She also worked closely with the RE Director, helping with classes and teaching them when the RE Director was not present. After we went virtual, she volunteered without being asked to set up the curriculum for All-Ages Religious Education online and coordinated it for a time until she stepped down to complete her studies. Allison has been active in other areas of the church -
2021 Recipient of the Jesse Coon Award
Chair of the Nominating Committee 2019-2020
Coordinating the RE UNICEF Thanksgiving “Guest at Your Table” collection;
Leading the RE group in the Crop Walk;
Decorations for a Silent Auction & Halloween Party;
Helping with the Food Bank hurricane Fundraiser;
Greeter on Sunday mornings.
Lastly, she and her spouse successfully spearheaded a move toward greater transparency in board actions which led to better communication between board and congregation and to have more frequent Town Hall meetings and BOT updates.
As Director of All Ages Religious Education & Membership/Outreach
Allison will be working full-time in this contract position to help the UUCBV move forward. She will be spending 50% of her time on children and youth religious education, 25% on adult religious education, and 25% on membership and outreach. Fortunately, we are able to fund this position through an anonymous donation.
The Board of Trustees welcomes Allison Faber to this position and are very excited to have her in this leadership role.
I'm really glad you are onboard, Allison. Looking forward to a great All Ages RE program.
