Here at UUCBV, we strive to be a multi-generational congregation – one in which the adults, youth, children, and babies engage with each other. This engagement is through worship services, religious education, “Time for all ages”, social activities for all ages, summer pen-pal program, making “gifts” for those who can’t participate directly in congregation, community service projects, – Mobile Food Pantry and Family Promise come to mind.
How many of you realize that this interaction also takes place in service to the congregation? On many Sundays we are able to worship together because our youth help convert this room into a sacred space, help convert it back to a secular place, help with mentoring and teaching the younger children, play with and watch out for the younger folk, shake hands with us older and younger ones during the “honoring the divine” time during worship services, help clean up our space at the Neal Rec Center, and other places where we gather – the list goes on and on. Today, the Board has selected two of our youth to receive the Jesse Coon Award for 2023 – Reid and Liam Faber!
On behalf of the Board, I extend our sincere gratitude to – Reid and Liam Faber for contributing to the success of the congregation and its impact in our community!
