Join the UUCBV MSJE for: Letter Writing in Support of H.R.763 -

Sunday, March 8th during Coffee Hour

Raymond Tarpley, Chapter Leader for Citizens’ Climate Lobby, (CLL) will help us do this!

We will write letters to Representative Flores in support of -

H.R.763 - Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act of 2019,

the US House of Representatives bill that proposes a fee on carbon at the point of extraction to encourage market-driven innovation of clean energy technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. And it has bipartisan support.

CCL has long advocated leveraging the market economy to move away from fossil fuels through a carbon tax (while lowering personal impact by returning revenues raised to all U.S. citizens). Thousands of economists now agree that this is the surest, fastest and least disruptive way to shift to clean energy, creating new jobs in the process. And this is gaining bipartisan support in Congress!

We will also write letters to Senators Cornyn and Cruz in support of S. 2284 - the Climate Action Rebate Act of 2019. This is a Senate Bill similar to H.R. 763 that stipulates a dividend back to citizens.

And it has bipartisan support, most recently from, Senators Marco Rubio (R-Fl), Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Susan Collins (R-ME) and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI).

So, bring your writing hands, enjoy conversation, coffee and snacks and we will bring stationary, envelops, stamps and letter templates, so that you can start writing in support of Our Mother Earth!
